This Inside the Waistband Kydex holster is molded specifically for the Ruger Security 9 full‑size pistol, following the slide and frame profile to provide a secure, form‑fitted carry. It is intended for standard, non‑light‑bearing configurations and is not designed for use with weapon‑mounted lights, frame‑mounted lasers, or oversized compensators.
Shell Material and Profile
The holster body is formed from approximately 0.08‑inch Kydex thermoplastic, providing a rigid shell that maintains its shape under belt pressure and supports consistent one‑handed reholstering. A raised sweat guard on the body side helps minimize metal‑to‑skin contact and protects the slide and controls from perspiration during everyday carry.
Retention and Cant Adjustment
Passive retention is provided by a molded friction fit around the trigger guard and frame, with front‑mounted hardware that allows you to fine‑tune draw resistance. Adjustable mounting for the belt clip supports cant adjustment, so you can set your preferred carry angle for appendix or strong‑side inside‑the‑waistband use.
Belt Clip and Everyday Use
A single polymer belt clip is designed to attach securely to standard 1.5‑inch everyday carry belts, keeping the holster anchored during movement and drawing. The slim Kydex profile keeps the Ruger Security 9 close to the body, aiding concealment while providing enough rigidity for a stable draw and repeatable reholstering.
Compatibility Notes
This holster is intended for the Ruger Security 9 full‑size pistol only and does not fit the Security 9 Compact or models equipped with lights, lasers, or other rail‑mounted accessories. Optic‑ready slides or pistols with tall suppressor‑height sights may require a dedicated optic‑cut holster, as high‑profile sights or red dots can interfere with the standard sight channel.
Care and Maintenance
Avoid exposing the holster to high temperatures, such as leaving it inside a closed vehicle in direct sunlight, since Kydex can deform under excessive heat.
Clean the holster using mild soap and water only; do not use abrasive pads or aggressive chemical cleaners that could damage the Kydex or hardware.
Do not lubricate the retention screws. After setting your preferred retention, periodically check the hardware for tightness and, if needed, apply a medium‑strength threadlocker to help keep the screws secure during everyday carry.
