P30SK vs P30 vs P30L — Three Different Shells The P30SK is H&K’s subcompact variant, with a 3.27″ barrel and an overall length of 6.42″. The standard P30 has a 4.45″ barrel and an overall length of 7.56″; the P30L has an even longer slide. These are not size configurations of the same holster — each model requires a separately molded shell, and the dimensional gap between P30SK and P30 is large enough that incorrect shell selection is immediately apparent on holstering. This holster is molded for the P30SK specifically. If you are carrying a standard P30 or P30L, those models require their own dedicated holsters.
P30SK Trigger Variants — V1, V2, and V3 The P30SK is available in three trigger and safety configurations that affect the holster’s left-side clearance:
V1 (LEM) — Law Enforcement Modification trigger with a short reset double-action; no external safety or decocking lever on the frame
V2 (DA/SA) — traditional double-action/single-action with no manual safety lever
V3 (DA/SA with safety/decocking lever) — adds an ambidextrous safety and decocking lever on both sides of the frame
This shell accommodates V1 and V2 without modification. The V3’s decocking lever projects laterally from the left side of the frame — verify that the lever clears the shell’s left panel without binding on holstering before committing to daily carry with a V3.
Backstraps and Grip Panels — No Effect on Fit The P30SK ships with multiple interchangeable backstraps and lateral grip panels of different sizes. The holster shell indexes off the slide geometry and trigger guard — not the grip module. Changing backstrap size or grip panel configuration does not affect holster fit or retention.
No Rail — No Weapon Light Compatibility The P30SK does not have a Picatinny or MIL-STD-1913 rail on the frame. Weapon lights such as the Streamlight TLR-7, Olight Baldr S, or similar rail-mount accessories cannot be attached to the P30SK without an aftermarket rail adapter. This holster is molded for the bare P30SK frame — a rail-adapted configuration with a mounted light requires a separate weapon-light-specific shell.
Shell Construction Full Kydex construction throughout. The trigger guard is fully enclosed within the mold from holster entry through the base of the guard. When the P30SK reaches full seating depth, the Kydex snaps back at the retention contact point, confirming seating audibly. The sweat guard extends behind the slide, keeping the rear of the frame off direct skin contact during IWB carry. The P30SK’s compact 6.42″ overall length and slim profile make it one of the more manageable subcompact platforms in appendix carry — the shell’s low-profile clip keeps the grip from printing in either appendix or strong-side position.
Retention and Cant The retention screw is accessible from the exterior of the shell and adjustable without removing the holster from the belt. Cant adjusts from 0° to 15° at the belt clip, covering both appendix carry and strong-side positions. The P30SK’s subcompact dimensions distribute weight evenly in either position. Test retention with the fully loaded firearm before daily carry — the correct retention setting holds the pistol through inversion without play while still allowing a clean, single-motion draw.
Maintenance Keep the shell away from sustained heat sources. Clean with a damp cloth only — avoid solvents and abrasive materials. Check and tighten retention and clip screws at regular intervals. Do not apply lubricant to the screw hardware — lubricant attracts debris and promotes retention drift over time.
