Standard 1911 Government Compatibility
This Outside the Waistband (OWB) polymer holster is injection-molded to accommodate the classic 5-inch Government profile of the 1911 platform. It securely fits standard, non-railed 1911 models from manufacturers such as Colt, Kimber, Springfield Armory, Rock Island Armory, and Taurus. Fitment Exclusion: Due to the precise molding of the dust cover and trigger guard, this holster will not accommodate 1911 models equipped with an accessory rail (such as tactical or operator frames) or micro-compact variants.
Active Level II Index Retention
Designed for open carry, duty use, or range training, this rig features an active Level II mechanical retention system. Upon holstering, an internal locking mechanism engages the 1911’s trigger guard, securing the firearm with a distinct, audible click. The locking block prevents the weapon from dislodging during vigorous movement. To draw, the carrier presses an intuitive index-finger release button located along the natural draw path, allowing for a fluid and secure extraction.
Adjustable Paddle and Angle Calibration
The external mounting system utilizes a contoured polymer paddle designed to slide comfortably inside the waistband or over a belt. The body-facing side of the paddle features a soft silicone pad to mitigate pressure points against the hip during extended wear. An integrated 360-degree rotational gear hub allows carriers to manually adjust the holster’s cant (angle) to optimize their preferred draw stroke, whether positioned strong-side, cross-draw, or small-of-back.
Polymer Construction and Maintenance
Constructed from impact-resistant polymer, the structural housing protects the 1911’s finish while withstanding high-stress environments. Ensure the internal locking mechanism remains free of dirt and debris for consistent operation. Wash the exterior and interior solely with cold water and mild soap. Periodically check the torque on the rotational gear screw to ensure the angle remains firmly locked in place.
