Gen 5 Heavy Slide Architecture
This inside-the-waistband (IWB) shell is vacuum-formed exclusively to accommodate the unique dimensions of the Glock 22 Generation 5. The G22 Gen 5 utilizes a substantially wider and heavier slide than previous generations or standard 9mm counterparts. This specific molding accommodates the increased slide width, ensuring a precise, zero-wobble fit that standard G17 holsters cannot provide.
Trigger Shield and Tension Calibration
To ensure absolute safety during inside-the-waistband carry, the rigid polymer walls completely encapsulate the trigger guard on both sides. Users maintain full control over the specific extraction force required to unholster the weapon. Dual steel tension screws located below the trigger area allow exact calibration of the Kydex friction.
Body Contact and Perspiration Guard
The inner profile of the holster features an extended vertical sweat shield that runs parallel to the widened slide. This physical barrier prevents the extended mass of the G22 Gen 5 slide from rubbing directly against the carrier’s torso during movement, while also blocking bodily perspiration from reaching the metallic components.​
Thermoplastic Limits and Upkeep
Kydex maintains its precise structural integrity entirely through heat-formed memory. Do not store the unit in extreme heat environments, such as a vehicle interior under direct summer sunlight, as this will permanently deform the customized slide molding. Maintain the surfaces using only cold water and mild detergent. Do not apply lubricants to the retention hardware; inspect screw torque regularly.
