TLR-7 vs. TLR-7 Sub — Critical Distinction for This Platform
The Streamlight TLR-7 and TLR-7 Sub are not the same light. The TLR-7 Sub was developed specifically for pistols with slim-profile rails like the P365 series — it is shorter, lighter, and has a different mounting interface than the full-size TLR-7. The P365 and P365XL use the slim-line rail, which accepts the TLR-7 Sub. This holster is molded for the TLR-7 Sub configuration on these platforms. The full-size TLR-7 mounts differently and produces a different combined profile that this shell does not accommodate.

P365 and P365XL on the Same Shell
The P365 and P365XL have different slide lengths — the standard P365 has a 3.1″ barrel while the P365XL has a 3.7″ barrel. With the TLR-7 Sub mounted, the light’s body extends forward of the trigger guard on both models, but the longer P365XL slide creates a deeper insertion depth into the shell. This holster accounts for both slide lengths within the same mold. The draw feel will be slightly different between the two configurations due to the different total lengths — test retention separately if you switch between them.

Light-First Fit Requirement
The shell is molded around the combined profile of the P365/P365XL frame and the mounted TLR-7 Sub. The light must be attached to the rail before holstering — the shell indexes off the light body as part of its retention geometry. Holstering either pistol without the TLR-7 Sub installed will not produce a functional fit.

Incompatible P365 Variants
This holster is not compatible with: P365 XMacro, P365 SAS, P365 AXG Legion, or any P365 variant with a different weapon light or no light. The XMacro has a substantially larger frame that requires a separate shell entirely.

Shell Construction
Full Kydex construction throughout. The trigger guard is fully enclosed within the mold from holster entry through the base of the guard. The sweat guard extends behind the slide, keeping the rear of the frame off direct skin contact. When the pistol with mounted TLR-7 Sub reaches full seating depth, the Kydex snaps back at the retention contact point, producing an audible click that confirms correct seating. All shell edges are finished and polished at the holster mouth and body perimeter.

Retention and Cant
The retention screw is positioned at the TLR-7 Sub body interface — the primary lock point on the combined firearm-plus-light unit. Adjust and test retention with the fully loaded firearm and mounted light before daily carry. Cant adjusts from 0° to 15° via the belt clip hardware, covering standard strong-side and appendix carry positions for the P365’s compact frame.

Maintenance
Keep the shell away from sustained heat sources. Clean with a damp cloth only — avoid solvents and abrasive materials. Check and tighten retention and clip screws at regular intervals; do not lubricate the screw hardware, as lubricant attracts debris and can cause retention screw drift over time.
