To securely house both the full-size (TH9, TH40) and compact variants (TH9c, TH40c), the architectural housing utilizes an open-muzzle design. This configuration allows the longer 4.25-inch barrel of the full-size models to pass through cleanly, while maintaining a firm, zero-wobble grip on the compact frames.
Fitment Exclusions: Because the internal locking block is engineered exclusively for the bare trigger guard, this holster will not accommodate any Taurus TH model equipped with aftermarket lasers or weapon-mounted lights.
Active Index-Release Security (Level II) Engineered for range applications, open carry, and duty use, this rig features an active Level II mechanical retention system. Upon holstering, the internal mechanism automatically locks the trigger guard, securing the firearm with an audible click and preventing unauthorized disarming attempts. The carrier disengages the retention through an intuitive index-finger release button positioned along the natural draw path, allowing for fluid extraction when intentionally initiated.
Adjustable Paddle Integration Designed strictly for external hip or range carry, the mounting system utilizes a rugged polymer paddle that anchors securely over a belt or directly inside the waistband. An integrated 360-degree rotational gear hub allows the user to manually adjust the holster’s cant (angle) to optimize extraction mechanics for strong-side or cross-draw configurations. The paddle is fully compatible with standard gun belts ranging from 1.5 inches to 2.0 inches in width.
Polymer Construction and Maintenance Constructed from high-density, impact-resistant polymer, the shell protects the slide’s finish while resisting deformation under physical stress. Keep the internal locking mechanism free from dirt and debris. Wash the exterior and interior strictly with cold water and mild soap. Periodically check the torque on the rotational gear screw to ensure the angle remains firmly locked in place.
