P320 Platform Architecture and Holster Fit The Sig P320 is built on a modular serialized chassis system — the fire control unit is the serialized component, and grip modules are interchangeable. For holster purposes, what matters is the external frame geometry: the M18, X Carry, and Compact share compatible external dimensions at the frame-to-slide interface and trigger guard that allow a single shell to cover all three configurations. This holster is molded to those shared contact surfaces. Aftermarket grip modules that alter the external frame geometry may affect fitment — confirm before ordering if you run a non-factory module.
Shell Construction The outer shell is 0.08″ Kydex with full trigger guard enclosure built into the mold. The P320’s trigger guard geometry is consistent across M18, X Carry, and Compact, which is what makes single-shell coverage possible. When the firearm reaches full seating depth, the Kydex flexes and snaps back at the retention point, producing an audible click that confirms correct seating. This is a passive function of the mold — not a mechanical locking device. An optic cut is present in the shell for P320 variants running a direct-mount red-dot. The sweat guard extends behind the slide along the rear of the frame.
Hybrid Backing and the P320’s Weight Profile The P320 Compact and X Carry are mid-size pistols with a meaningful loaded weight — heavier than subcompacts and lighter than full-size duty pistols. The leather-and-foam backing manages the contact surface against the torso across that weight range: the leather provides a semi-rigid base that resists edge deformation, while the foam layer compresses and conforms to the carry position over the first weeks of daily use. The M18 in particular, with its slightly longer grip, covers more torso contact area than the Compact — the foam conforming process is more pronounced with the longer grip module.
Retention, Cant, and Ride Height Retention adjusts via screw at the shell’s retention point. Cant runs from -25° to +25° at the belt clip. Ride height is independently adjustable — on the X Carry and M18, which have longer grip frames than the Compact, ride height directly affects how much of the grip sits above the beltline and how visibly the pistol prints against clothing. Set ride height with your standard carry clothing before finalizing the position, as even a half-inch change in ride height on a mid-size pistol produces a noticeable difference in print profile.
Configuration Note on the M18 The M18 is a military contract variant of the P320 Carry. It ships with a specific coyote tan grip module and manual safety installed. This holster accommodates the M18 frame profile but does not cover the manual safety lever — the safety must be managed separately during the draw. If you carry the M18 with the safety engaged, practice your draw stroke to ensure the safety release is part of a consistent draw motion before carrying daily.
