Canik Mete MC9 IWB Hybrid Holster
MC9 Variant Compatibility — Critical Before Ordering The Mete MC9 line includes three distinct variants with different holster requirements. The standard MC9 and the MC9L share the same frame and slide dimensions, and both fit this holster correctly. The MC9 LS, however, features a longer barrel that changes the muzzle profile — it does not fit this shell. Confirm your specific variant before purchasing. If you carry the MC9 LS, this is not the correct holster.
Material Configuration The outer shell is 0.08″ Kydex, forming the firearm-contact and retention surface. The body-facing side uses a leather base with a foam pad positioned between leather and skin. The Kydex handles the structural demands — maintaining the holster opening shape, enclosing the trigger guard, and setting retention. The leather-and-foam layer manages the contact interface against the torso, gradually conforming to the carry position over the first weeks of daily use.
Trigger Guard and Sweat Guard The Kydex shell encloses the full trigger guard within the molded structure, from holster entry through the base of the guard, with no open section. The sweat guard extends behind the slide along the rear of the frame, keeping that surface separated from direct skin contact during IWB carry.
Optic Cut An optic cut is present in the shell for MC9 variants running a compact red-dot sight. The cut clears the footprint of commonly used compact optics on this platform. Iron sight configurations are not affected by the cut.
Retention and Cant Retention is adjusted via screw at the shell’s retention point. Cant adjustment range runs from 0° to 15° via the belt clip hardware — sufficient to cover appendix and strong-side carry positions for the MC9’s compact frame dimensions. Both adjustments are made by loosening the clip screws, repositioning, and re-tightening — no specialized tools required.
Maintenance Notes The leather backing benefits from periodic conditioning, particularly after extended sweat exposure or in low-humidity environments. Clean the Kydex shell with a damp cloth — avoid solvents. Check clip and retention hardware regularly during the break-in period, as the leather-Kydex material interface can work fasteners loose through repeated thermal cycling and draw use.
