Glock 43 / 43X / 48 IWB Hybrid Holster — Non-Rail Models
Why Three Models, One Shell The Glock 43, 43X, and 48 have different grip lengths and magazine capacities, but their slides, trigger guard geometry, and frame contact surfaces — the dimensions that determine holster fit — are dimensionally consistent across all three non-rail variants. That shared geometry is what allows a single shell to cover all three. The shell is molded to those contact points, not to the grip length, which is why the fit holds across the model range.
Rail and MOS Variants Are Not Compatible This holster fits only the non-rail versions of the Glock 43, 43X, and 48. The G43X MOS, G48 MOS, G43X Rail, and G48 Rail have different frame geometry at the accessory rail and optic mounting area. Those variants require a separately molded shell. There is no workaround — mounting a rail or optic plate to a standard variant and attempting to use this holster will result in incorrect fit and unreliable retention.
Shell and Backing Construction The Kydex outer shell is formed at 0.08″ thickness with full trigger guard enclosure from entry through the base of the guard — no open section or partial coverage gap. An optic cut is built into the shell for standard G43X and G48 users who run a direct-mount red-dot on the optic-ready slide without the full MOS plate system. The sweat guard extends behind the slide, separating the rear of the frame from direct skin contact at the grip junction.
Behind the Kydex sits a leather base with a foam pad on the body-facing side. On the slim G43/43X/48 platform — all notably narrow pistols — the foam layer’s conforming behavior is particularly relevant for appendix carry, where the holster sits in close contact with the lower abdomen throughout the day.
Retention and Cant Retention is set via adjustment screw at the shell’s retention point. Cant adjusts from -25° to +25° at the belt clip. Ride height is independently adjustable. The G48’s longer slide means a small change in ride height has a more visible effect on how much of the slide protrudes below the beltline than the shorter G43 would — set ride height with your typical carry clothing before finalizing the adjustment.
Hardware Check The leather-Kydex material interface expands and contracts at different rates with temperature and humidity changes. Check all hardware screws — retention, clip, and backing fasteners — every few weeks during the initial break-in period. Condition the leather backing periodically to prevent edge cracking, particularly after extended sweat exposure.
