This Inside the Waistband Kydex holster is molded specifically for the Sig Sauer P226 full‑size pistol, following the slide and frame profile for a secure, form‑fitted carry. It is intended for standard, non‑light‑bearing configurations and is not designed for use with weapon‑mounted lights, frame‑mounted lasers, or oversized compensators.
Shell Material and Profile
The holster body is formed from approximately 0.08‑inch Kydex thermoplastic, providing a rigid shell that maintains its shape under belt pressure and supports consistent one‑handed reholstering. A raised sweat guard on the body side helps reduce metal‑to‑skin contact and protects the slide and controls from perspiration during everyday concealed carry.
Retention and Cant Adjustment
Passive retention is provided by a molded friction fit around the trigger guard and frame. The retention level can be adjusted using the front‑mounted hardware screws so you can balance secure lock‑up with a smooth, repeatable draw. Slotted mounting for the belt clip allows cant adjustment, making it possible to set your preferred carry angle for appendix or strong‑side inside‑the‑waistband use.
Belt Clip and Everyday Use
A single 1.5‑inch belt clip is designed to attach securely to typical everyday carry belts, keeping the holster stable during movement and drawing. The slim Kydex shell keeps the P226 close to the body to aid concealment while providing enough rigidity for a controlled draw and reliable reholstering throughout daily use.
Compatibility Notes
This holster is intended for standard Sig Sauer P226 full‑size pistols (including common railed variants) and does not fit the more compact P229, P227, or pistols equipped with rail‑mounted lights or bulky muzzle devices. Users running tall suppressor‑height sights or slide‑mounted optics should verify clearance, as very high sights or large optics can interfere with a standard non‑optic‑cut sight channel.
Care and Maintenance
Avoid exposing the holster to high temperatures, such as leaving it inside a closed vehicle in direct sunlight, since Kydex can deform under excessive heat.
Clean the holster using mild soap and water only; do not use abrasive pads or aggressive chemical cleaners that could damage the Kydex or hardware.
Do not lubricate the retention screws. After setting your preferred retention, periodically check the hardware for tightness and, if needed, apply a medium‑strength threadlocker to help keep the screws secure during everyday carry.
