This Inside the Waistband Kydex holster is molded specifically for the Smith & Wesson M&P9 Shield EZ, following the slide and frame profile of the 9 mm EZ variant for a secure, form‑fitted carry. It is intended for standard, non‑light‑bearing configurations and does not fit models equipped with rail‑mounted lights, external lasers, or oversized compensators.
Shell Material and Profile
The holster body is made from approximately 0.08‑inch Kydex, providing a rigid shell that resists collapse under belt pressure and supports consistent one‑handed reholstering. A full‑height sweat guard on the body side helps reduce metal‑to‑skin contact and protects the slide and controls from perspiration during everyday concealed carry.
Retention and Cant Adjustment
Passive retention is provided by a molded friction fit around the trigger guard and frame, with an adjustable retention screw so you can fine‑tune draw resistance to your preference. The holster typically offers adjustable cant (roughly 0–15 degrees), allowing you to set your preferred carry angle for appendix, hip, or behind‑the‑hip inside‑the‑waistband positions.
Belt Clip and Everyday Use
A 1.5‑inch belt clip is designed to attach securely to common everyday carry belts, helping keep the holster stable during movement and drawing. The slim Kydex profile and light overall weight keep the M&P9 Shield EZ close to the body, aiding concealment while maintaining comfort for extended daily wear.
Compatibility Notes
This holster is intended specifically for the M&P9 Shield EZ and will not fit the original M&P Shield, Shield Plus, or other Shield‑family pistols due to their different dimensions and profiles. It is also not made for laser‑equipped or light‑bearing EZ models; users with tall aftermarket sights or slide‑mounted optics should verify clearance, as non‑standard heights can interfere with the sight channel.
Care and Maintenance
Avoid exposing the holster to high temperatures, such as leaving it inside a closed vehicle in direct sunlight, since Kydex can deform under excessive heat.
Clean using mild soap and water only; do not use abrasive pads or harsh chemicals that could damage the Kydex or hardware.
After setting your preferred retention, periodically check all screws for tightness and, if needed, apply a medium‑strength threadlocker to help keep the hardware secure during everyday carry.
