P320 Variant Compatibility — What Fits and What Doesn’t The P320 platform spans multiple slide lengths and frame configurations that are not interchangeable in a single holster shell. The P320 M17 has a 4.7″ barrel and an overall length of 8.0″; the P320 X-Five Legion has a 5.0″ barrel and an overall length of 8.5″ — a 0.5″ longer slide that produces a different muzzle position within the shell. These two models require separate shells. The P320 AXG Legion uses a full-size slide that shares the same length and mounting geometry as the standard P320 Full-Size, confirmed by SIG Sauer; it is compatible with holsters molded for the Full-Size P320 and fits the same shell as the M17. The P320 Full-Size standard (non-M17, non-Legion) also fits this shell for the same reason.
The following P320 variants are not compatible with this holster:
P320 X-Five Legion — longer 5.0″ barrel and slide require their own shell
P320 Compact — shorter slide and reduced frame height
P320 Subcompact — different frame and slide geometry entirely
TLR-1, TLR-1 HL, TLR-1 S — One Shell, Three Models The TLR-1, TLR-1 HL, and TLR-1 S share the same physical housing: 3.39″ in length and 1.47″ in width at the bezel. The differences between them are entirely functional — the TLR-1 outputs 300 lumens, the TLR-1 HL outputs 1,000 lumens from the same body, and the TLR-1 S adds a strobe mode to the base TLR-1’s output. Because the external geometry is identical, a single shell accommodates all three without modification. Switching between TLR-1, TLR-1 HL, and TLR-1 S does not require a different holster.
The TLR-1 HL-X is not compatible with this shell — it is a newer generation design that measures 3.63″ in length (0.24″ longer than the TLR-1 HL) with a different body profile that requires its own dedicated holster.
Light-First Fit Requirement This shell is molded around the combined profile of the P320 full-size frame and the mounted TLR-1 series light. The light must be attached to the rail before holstering — the shell indexes off the TLR-1 body as part of its retention geometry. Holstering any P320 variant without the light installed will not produce a functional fit.
Optic-Ready Variants The P320 M17 ships with a rear optic plate system that allows direct-mount red-dots on compatible footprints. This shell includes an optic cut at the rear of the slide window to accommodate a mounted optic on those variants. The optic cut does not interfere with holstering on non-optic configurations.
Shell Construction Full Kydex construction throughout. The trigger guard is fully enclosed within the mold from holster entry through the base of the guard. When the P320 with mounted TLR-1 reaches full seating depth, the Kydex snaps back at the TLR-1 body interface, confirming seating audibly. The sweat guard extends behind the slide, keeping the rear of the frame off direct skin contact during IWB carry.
Retention and Cant The retention screw is positioned at the TLR-1 body interface — the primary lock point on the combined firearm-plus-light unit. Because TLR-1, TLR-1 HL, and TLR-1 S have identical body geometry, retention set for one transfers directly to the others. Test retention with the fully loaded firearm and mounted light before daily carry. The P320 M17’s full-size profile — 8.0″ overall with a mounted TLR-1 adding forward mass — makes this a larger holstered footprint than compact or subcompact configurations. Cant adjusts from 0° to 15° at the belt clip; strong-side carry at 3–4 o’clock is the natural position for this size class. Appendix carry is possible but the M17’s combined length and weight with the TLR-1 requires a neutral cant (0°) to manage the overall profile comfortably.
Maintenance Keep the shell away from sustained heat sources and harsh chemicals. Clean with a damp cloth only — avoid abrasive materials. Check and tighten retention and clip screws at regular intervals. Do not apply lubricant to the screw hardware — lubricant attracts debris and promotes retention drift over time.
