Sig Sauer P365 / P365X / P365 SAS IWB Kydex Holster
Why These Three Models Share One Shell The P365, P365X, and P365 SAS all use the same 3.1″ barrel and identical slide length. The P365 has an overall length of 5.8″ with the standard micro-compact grip module; the P365X uses that same slide on the XL grip module, adding 0.2″ in overall length (6.0″) entirely at the grip base — the slide geometry is unchanged. The P365 SAS shares the P365’s exact dimensions at 5.8″ overall. Because all three models present the same slide profile to the holster shell, a single mold accommodates them correctly.
The following P365 variants are not compatible with this holster:
P365XL — 3.7″ barrel and 6.6″ overall length; longer slide requires a separate shell
P365 XMacro / XMacro Comp — 3.7″ barrel on a larger grip module; same slide incompatibility as XL
P365 FUSE — 4.3″ barrel; longest slide in the P365 family, requires its own shell
Any P365 variant with rail-mounted weapon light — this shell is molded for the bare frame only
P365 SAS — Critical Holster Considerations The P365 SAS is not optic-ready. Its slide is fitted with the FT Bullseye system — a flush-mounted periscopic sight integrated directly into the slide surface that replaces conventional raised sights entirely. There is no slide cut for a direct-mount red-dot, and the FT Bullseye system produces no projection above the slide. This shell’s optic cut is present for P365 and P365X OR users running red-dots — on the SAS, the optic cut is simply unused and does not affect holstering. Do not attempt to mount a conventional red-dot on the P365 SAS slide; it is not compatible with optic mounting.
P365X Optic-Ready — Factory Optic Mount The P365X includes a factory optic mount as standard, using the Shield Micro footprint (Shield RMSc, Sig RomeoZero, Holosun 407k/507k). This shell includes an optic cut at the rear of the slide window sized for Shield Micro footprint optics. Taller optics outside this footprint family may exceed clearance and contact the shell during holstering — test fit with your specific optic installed before daily carry.
P365 Rail Compatibility The standard P365 and P365 SAS do not have a rail for accessory mounting. The P365X has a proprietary SIG-format rail that accepts certain compact weapon lights — but this shell is molded for the bare frame and does not accommodate a mounted light on the P365X rail. Weapon-light configurations require a separate, dedicated weapon-light-specific shell.
Shell Construction Full Kydex construction throughout. The trigger guard is fully enclosed within the mold from holster entry through the base of the guard. When the pistol reaches full seating depth, the Kydex snaps back at the retention contact point, confirming seating audibly. The sweat guard extends behind the slide, keeping the rear of the frame off direct skin contact during IWB carry. At 5.8″–6.0″ overall and 1.0″–1.1″ width, the P365 family is among the slimmest micro-compact platforms available — the shell’s low-profile clip minimizes grip print in both appendix and strong-side positions.
Retention and Cant The retention screw is accessible from the exterior of the shell and adjustable without removing the holster from the belt. Cant adjusts from 0° to 15° at the belt clip. The P365’s short overall length and sub-18 oz weight make it equally practical at any cant in either carry position — a neutral cant (0°) works well in appendix carry for all three models. The P365X’s extended grip adds a small amount of height above the beltline compared to the P365 and SAS, which some users address with a slight forward cant to tuck the grip closer to the body.
Maintenance Keep the shell away from sustained heat sources. Clean with a damp cloth only — avoid solvents and abrasive materials. Check and tighten retention and clip screws at regular intervals. Do not apply lubricant to the screw hardware — lubricant attracts debris and promotes retention drift over time.
