Springfield Hellcat PRO IWB Kydex Holster — Streamlight TLR-7 / TLR-8 / TLR-8A
Three Lights, One Shell — Why It Works The Streamlight TLR-7, TLR-8, and TLR-8A share the same physical housing dimensions and identical rail mounting interface. The difference between them is functional, not dimensional: the TLR-7 is a light-only unit; the TLR-8 combines the same light output with a red laser; the TLR-8A replaces the red laser with a green laser. Because the external body geometry is identical across all three, a single shell molded to that profile accommodates all three configurations without modification. Switching between TLR-7, TLR-8, and TLR-8A does not require a different holster.
Light-First Fit Requirement This shell is molded around the combined profile of the Hellcat PRO frame and the mounted Streamlight. The light must be attached to the rail before holstering — the shell indexes off the light body as part of its retention geometry. Holstering the Hellcat PRO without the light installed will not produce a functional fit.
Hellcat PRO Variants — Compatibility and Exclusions This holster fits the standard Hellcat PRO (4.0″ barrel) with rail, in both standard and manual safety configurations. The safety lever, when present, sits above the trigger guard at the frame level and does not interfere with the shell’s retention geometry.
The following variants are not compatible:
Hellcat PRO RDP — the integrated compensator extends the muzzle profile beyond the standard PRO’s dimensions and prevents correct seating
Standard Hellcat (3.0″ barrel) — different slide length and profile
Hellcat PRO without rail — rail is required for the light to mount and for the shell to retain correctly
Shell Construction Full Kydex construction throughout. The trigger guard is fully enclosed within the mold from holster entry through the base of the guard. When the Hellcat PRO with mounted Streamlight reaches full seating depth, the Kydex snaps back at the retention contact point, confirming seating audibly. The sweat guard extends behind the slide, keeping the rear of the frame off direct skin contact during IWB carry. All edges are finished and polished at the holster mouth and body perimeter.
Retention The retention screw is positioned at the Streamlight body interface — the primary lock point on the combined firearm-plus-light unit. Because TLR-7, TLR-8, and TLR-8A have identical body geometry, retention set for one transfers directly to the others. Test retention with the fully loaded firearm and mounted light before daily carry.
Cant and Carry Position Cant adjusts from 0° to 15° at the belt clip, covering strong-side and appendix carry positions. The Hellcat PRO’s 4.0″ barrel combined with the Streamlight’s forward mass creates a longer holstered profile than a standard Hellcat — in appendix carry, a neutral cant (0°) distributes that length more evenly against the body than an aggressive forward angle would.
Maintenance Keep the shell away from sustained heat sources. Clean with a damp cloth only — avoid solvents and abrasive materials. Check and tighten retention and clip screws at regular intervals; do not apply lubricant to the screw hardware, as it attracts debris and promotes retention drift over time.
