Platform-Specific Architectural Fit
Due to the significant structural variations within the Springfield Armory lineup, this Outside the Waistband (OWB) polymer platform utilizes dedicated molding for specific chassis dimensions. Each shell is precision-molded to trace the unique trigger guard and slide widths of designated models—ranging from the single-stack XD-S to the full-size XD and XD-M series. Users must select their precise firearm model and barrel length prior to purchase.
Critical Fitment Exclusion:Â This specific structural mold does not feature an optic cut. Slide-mounted Red Dot Sights (RDS) will physically strike the top of the holster shell, preventing the firearm from seating. It is strictly compatible with standard iron-sight configurations and will not accommodate Springfield OSP (Optical Sight Pistol) models with mounted optics.
Passive Trigger Enclosure and Friction Control
Engineered for open carry, range applications, and duty training, this rig employs a passive friction retention system. The rigid walls completely encapsulate the trigger guard on both the inboard and outboard sides, creating a hard physical barrier against clothing and debris. Carriers establish their exact extraction resistance by calibrating the dedicated steel tension screw located beneath the trigger zone, ensuring the hold remains secure during vigorous movement.
Body Contour and Extraction Mechanics
Designed without an active thumb break, the open-top architecture ensures the carrier can achieve a full, unimpeded firing grip before the weapon clears the shell. The exterior mounting system anchors the rig closely against the hip, distributing the weight of fully-loaded double-stack platforms evenly across the beltline to mitigate physical fatigue over extended shifts.
Thermal Maintenance and Hardware Integrity
Thermoplastic and polymer shells rely strictly on heat-formed memory to maintain their dedicated grip. Exposing the unit to enclosed, extreme heat environments—such as a locked vehicle dashboard in direct sunlight—will permanently deform the custom molding. Wash the exterior and interior strictly with cold water and mild detergent. Periodically inspect the tension hardware to ensure your chosen friction setting remains securely locked.
