Tactical Ankle Holster — Neoprene IWB Leg Carry
Ankle carry serves a specific role in a concealed carry setup: it positions a backup firearm or a compact primary at the lower leg, accessible from a seated or crouched position and completely concealed under standard trouser length. This holster is designed for that carry role — not as a replacement for waistband carry, but as a dedicated ankle platform for compact and subcompact pistols.
Retention System The firearm is secured inside a neoprene pocket by a snap-closure retention strap. The strap runs over the top of the pistol and fastens with a snap, creating a physical barrier that keeps the firearm seated during movement. Drawing requires a deliberate release of the snap — passive friction alone does not secure the firearm. This is the standard retention mechanism for soft ankle holsters and determines draw speed relative to waistband carry.
Attachment to the Leg The holster wraps around the ankle and lower calf using a double-strap system secured with hook-and-loop closures. The primary strap sits at the ankle; the secondary strap positions higher on the calf to prevent the holster from rotating or sliding downward during movement. The neoprene material includes ventilation perforations along the contact surface to reduce heat buildup during extended wear.
Ambidextrous Configuration The holster is designed for both right and left-hand draw. The retention strap and snap position work from either side, allowing the holster to be worn on either leg without a separate left-hand or right-hand version.
Firearm Compatibility Best suited for compact and subcompact pistols. Confirmed compatible models include: Glock 26, 27, 42, 43, Sig Sauer P365, Smith & Wesson M&P Shield, Springfield XDs, Ruger LCP, Kimber Solo, and Taurus PT111. Full-size pistols are not recommended for ankle carry due to weight and grip length constraints — the added mass accelerates holster migration down the leg during extended movement regardless of strap adjustment.
Sizing Measure the circumference of your ankle and lower calf before ordering. The hook-and-loop closure system provides a range of adjustment, but the band has a fixed maximum length. Users with larger calf circumferences should verify the band length against their measurement before purchasing.
