Taurus G3C Holster With Light: Compatibility Checklist (No Guesswork)

Taurus G3C light-bearing holster setup

Taurus G3C Holster With Light (GM23, Baldr S/Mini, PL Mini 2): Fit Checklist

So you’re running a Taurus G3C with a light—nice. But heads up: the moment you bolt on a weapon light, your “regular” holster usually becomes a paperweight.

And yeah… “close enough” doesn’t exist here. Light-bearing holsters need to match your exact light model.

If your G3C light is one of these:

  • GM23 (TrustFire)
  • Olight Baldr S / Baldr Mini
  • Olight PL Mini 2

…this guide is for you.

Quick answer (no fluff)

If your Taurus G3C has a light attached, you want a light-bearing holster that’s built for:

  • Taurus G3C (not “Taurus compact-ish”)
  • Your exact light (GM23 vs Baldr S vs PL Mini 2 are not interchangeable)
  • Your carry style (IWB or OWB)
  • Your setup (optic cut, sight height, etc.)

If the product listing doesn’t clearly state the light model, don’t gamble.

The no-BS compatibility checklist

Before you buy:

  1. Gun model: Taurus G3C (confirm it’s listed).
  2. Exact light model: GM23 / Baldr S / Baldr Mini / PL Mini 2 (don’t “eyeball” it).
  3. Carry style: IWB or OWB (and if IWB, are you going appendix/AIWB or strong-side?).
  4. Handedness: right-hand vs left-hand.
  5. Optic cut: if you run a dot now (or plan to), get optic-ready.
  6. Retention: secure and consistent; ideally adjustable.
  7. Trigger guard coverage: full coverage, always.
  8. Belt/clip match: clip needs to match your belt width and your daily belt.

Why your light model matters (GM23 vs Baldr vs PL Mini 2)

Here’s the part that saves you money: most light-bearing holsters are shaped around the light body, not just the gun.

Even if two lights look “similar,” the width, length, switches, and mount shape change the fit.

GM23 (TrustFire)

The GM23 is a compact pistol weapon light marketed with Glock/1913 rail compatibility and a rechargeable battery setup.
Translation: you need a holster that explicitly supports GM23, not just “with light.”

Olight Baldr S / Baldr Mini

Baldr S is often sold as an 800-lumen weapon light (with laser variants) and uses rail adapters for Glock/Picatinny style mounting.
That rail/shape profile is exactly why you should match the holster to “Baldr S” (or “Baldr Mini”) specifically.

Olight PL Mini 2

PL Mini 2 is marketed as a rechargeable compact weapon light with an adjustable rail adapter and a 600-lumen output.
Again: “PL Mini 2” needs to be stated in the holster fitment, or you’re guessing.

Retention: what “good” feels like

You want retention that’s:

  • Secure when you move around
  • The same every draw
  • Not crazy tight

If it feels sticky in one spot, or retention changes depending on how the light sits, that’s usually a fit/clearance issue.

Safety note: test-fit unloaded, with ammo out of the room.

IWB vs OWB for a G3C + light (quick pick)

Go IWB if you want concealment and you’re okay tweaking comfort (belt, ride height, cant).
Shop IWB Holsters →

Go OWB if comfort and easy on/off are the priority (and you can cover it with a hoodie/jacket).
Shop OWB Holsters →

Either way: light on the gun = light-bearing holster.

FAQ
Can I use the same holster for Baldr S and PL Mini 2?
Usually no—different light bodies, different fit requirements.

Is GM23 “basically like” the others?
Not for holsters. You still want a holster that lists GM23 specifically.

Do I need optic cut?
If you run a red dot (or plan to), yes—get optic-ready so you don’t end up with the dot hitting the holster.
