Beretta APX Carry IWB Kydex Holster
The APX Family Is Larger Than It Appears — Read Before Ordering Beretta’s APX line includes multiple distinct models with similar names but different external dimensions. This holster is molded exclusively for the APX Carry (3″ barrel, subcompact). The following models are not compatible:
APX A1 Carry — redesigned frame geometry, different from the original APX Carry
APX A1 Compact — different slide and frame profile
APX Compact — larger frame and slide
APX Centurion — different barrel length and frame
APX Full Size — full-size frame, not subcompact
The APX Carry’s 3″ subcompact configuration is the only variant this shell was molded for. If you are uncertain which variant you carry, verify the model designation printed on the slide before ordering.
Shell Construction Full Kydex construction throughout — no leather or foam backing layer. The shell is formed directly to the APX Carry’s frame and slide contact surfaces. The trigger guard is fully enclosed within the mold from holster entry through the base of the guard, with no open section. When the APX Carry reaches full seating depth, the Kydex snaps back at the retention point, producing an audible click that confirms correct seating — a passive function of the mold geometry, not a mechanical device.
The sweat guard extends behind the slide, keeping the rear of the frame off direct skin contact during IWB carry. All edges are finished and polished at the holster mouth and along the body perimeter.
Optic Compatibility An optic cut is present in the shell. The APX Carry’s slide does not have a factory optic-ready configuration — the cut accommodates aftermarket optic mounting solutions on the platform. Confirm that your specific optic footprint and mounting system clear the shell geometry before use.
Retention Retention is set passively at the shell level via adjustment screw. The APX Carry is a lightweight subcompact — loaded weight is modest compared to larger platforms. Set retention with a fully loaded magazine, as the APX Carry’s empty-to-loaded weight ratio is proportionally more significant than on heavier pistols, and the draw feel difference between empty and loaded can be more noticeable.
Cant and Carry Position Cant is adjustable at the belt clip. The APX Carry’s subcompact dimensions make it well-suited for appendix carry — the short grip and lightweight profile reduce the carry discomfort that longer or heavier pistols create in AIWB position. Strong-side carry at 3–4 o’clock is equally supported by the cant adjustment range.
