Sig Sauer P365 IWB Hybrid Holster — P365 / P365 SAS / P365X / P365XL
Four Variants, One Shell — What You Need to Know First The P365 line spans four meaningfully different configurations, and this holster covers all four. Here is what distinguishes each and what it means for carry:
P365 (standard): Baseline subcompact with iron sights. The shell reference configuration for this holster.
P365 SAS: Ported slide and barrel, with a FT Bullseye sight system instead of conventional iron sights. The optic cut in this shell does not apply to the SAS — it has no standard optic mounting footprint.
P365X: Shortened slide with an optic-ready direct-mount footprint. The optic cut in this shell accommodates the P365X’s optic configuration.
P365XL: Longer slide and barrel (3.7″) with an extended grip for higher magazine capacity. The longer slide sits deeper in the shell; the optic cut covers the XL’s optic-ready variants.
Not compatible with the P365 XMacro — that model has a substantially larger frame and grip that require a separate shell entirely.
Shell and Trigger Guard The outer shell is 0.08″ Kydex formed to the P365 family’s shared frame and slide contact surfaces. The trigger guard is fully enclosed within the mold from holster entry through the base of the guard — no open section at any point. The sweat guard extends behind the slide, keeping the rear of the frame off direct skin contact. When the firearm reaches full seating depth, the Kydex snaps back at the retention point, producing an audible click that confirms correct seating.
Leather and Foam Backing The P365 family is among the slimmest pistols in its caliber class — the subcompact frame covers a small torso contact area during IWB carry. The leather-and-foam backing still provides a meaningful comfort benefit at the holster edges, which are the main contact pressure points during carry. The foam layer conforms to the carry position over the first one to two weeks of daily use. The P365XL’s longer grip creates slightly more contact area than the standard P365 — the break-in period is correspondingly more noticeable for XL users.
Retention and Adjustment Retention adjusts via screw at the shell’s passive retention point. The P365 family’s lightweight polymer frame means retention set on an empty firearm can feel noticeably different from a fully loaded one — the P365’s standard magazine adds meaningful weight relative to the pistol’s empty frame. Always calibrate retention with a loaded magazine. Cant adjusts from -25° to +25°; ride height is independently adjustable.
A Note on the P365 SAS and Optic Cut The P365 SAS uses a FT Bullseye sight integrated into the slide — it has no top-mounted red-dot footprint. The optic cut in this shell is present but irrelevant for SAS users. The cut does not affect retention or fit for the SAS configuration.

Ordered the holster at 10pm on Tuesday, it was delivered by Saturday. I have to say, after buying multiple holsters (like everyone has), then trying to tweek the “comfortable” holster you just bought, so it feels sorta comfortable 🙄 Well, that ends here. The firearm snaps into the kydex with great retention, the metal belt clip works well on a belt or just with jeans, and the neoprene padded backing feels amazing and dare I say it, it’s really really comfortable. I found my new EDC holster.
