Taurus G2C / G3C IWB Hybrid Holster
G2C and G3C on the Same Shell — The Technical Reason The Taurus G2C and G3C share compatible external dimensions at the slide, trigger guard, and frame contact surfaces that matter for holster fit. The G3C introduced ergonomic grip updates and a redesigned frame texture over the G2C, but those changes are internal and cosmetic — the external geometry at the holster contact points is consistent between both models, which is why a single shell covers both. Additionally, the G2C’s earlier counterpart — the Millennium G2 PT111 — also shares this geometry and fits this shell.
Light and Laser Compatibility This holster is molded for the standard G2C and G3C frame without rail-mounted accessories. It is not compatible with weapon light or laser configurations. Attempting to holster either pistol with a light or laser attached will prevent full seating and produce non-functional retention. If you carry the G2C or G3C with a rail-mounted accessory, a separately molded light-bearing shell is required.
Shell and Trigger Guard The 0.08″ Kydex outer shell fully encloses the trigger guard within the mold from holster entry through the base of the guard. The sweat guard extends behind the slide, keeping the rear of the frame off direct skin contact at the grip junction. An optic cut is present in the shell for G2C and G3C variants running a direct-mount red-dot — compatible optics include a wide range of compact footprints commonly used on this platform.
Hybrid Backing The body-facing side uses a leather base with a foam pad between leather and skin. Both the G2C and G3C are compact pistols with shorter grip frames than full-size platforms — the foam layer’s contact footprint is correspondingly smaller, which means the break-in conforming process is less pronounced than on larger pistols. The leather backing reaches its settled shape after consistent daily carry over approximately one to two weeks.
Retention and Adjustment Retention is set at the shell’s passive retention point via adjustment screw. Cant adjusts from -25° to +25° at the belt clip, with independent ride height adjustment. The G2C and G3C’s compact grip length makes ride height selection straightforward — the shorter grip sits further below the beltline at standard ride height settings than a full-size pistol would, which generally reduces printing without requiring aggressive ride height reduction.
Maintenance Condition the leather backing periodically, particularly after extended sweat exposure. Clean the Kydex shell with a damp cloth only — avoid solvents. Check all hardware screws at regular intervals, as the Kydex-leather material interface can loosen fasteners through repeated draw cycles and thermal changes.
